Add On!

Hey Y'all!

Just a quick post to let you know everything is somewhat calm around here, I finished a layout, and a Freebie Add-On. The layout is made with my Fairy Lands kit and features my daughter, Kimberli, when she was about 7 months old. The photo is a scan of an index print as the original was given to my mother thirty odd years ago! She was such a little cutie and you can tell even though it's a poor shot. You know, she will be 39 in August but she is still that little baby to me.

"Fairy Dreamland"
Journaling: Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess named Kimberli. When Kimberli slept, the fairies would gather her to their hearts and keep her safe while she was in Dreamland. Kimberli did not sleep very much her first year as she had colic. February 1970

You can get the add on HERE. The layout features most of the add on elements. Hope you enjoy it!

Remember to keep the American Soldiers, the Chinese earthquake victims, and each other on your Prayer List!

I Made A Template!

Hey Y'all! First I want to share with you the layout I did last week using a puzzle template made by Bernadette Hunt of Natural Designs In Scrapbooking. It was really easy and it gave me an idea that I ran with today! Don't you love how Photoshop can do all sorts of things? It's probably not the best layout I've ever done but I was so pumped to use the new puzzle templates that I didn't take a lot of time to "think" this one out.

All The Pieces
PP: Scrappin Delights Designs; Overlay: Ilona Havenaar mis-coverlays 3; Ripped Overlay: Jen Caputo; Puzzle Templates: Bernadette Hunt; Shapes: Flergs' Funky Stars; Font: SquireD by Microsoft True Type; Software: Photoshop CS3

This is the layout I did today and I used a heart template that I designed myself. It was super easy to do but I thought you might want to have one that you didn't have to make yourself, so I prepared one for download!

Happy B'day Libby!
Paper, daisies, bling, butterfly brush, alpha, Heart Template: Liv's Lovelies; font: Technical TT MS

The upload doesn't do the layout justice; it really doesn't have all that "noise" in it on my computer. Anyway, here is the template and a link to 4 shared so you can get it for your stash! Oh yes, I also included the directions for use which are very simple but took longer for me to type up than to make the template!

I hope you enjoy using it. Please leave me a link in the comments if you use it-I really love to see your work! And don't forget to leave me some LUV if you download it. Also, if your friends would like to have one, please direct them to this blog.

Hope all is well with y'all. The lovey dovey furry things must have "finished" making babies because they didn't wake me this morning! I got to sleep until 8:10am! Woo Hoo!

Lowercase Alpha Freebie

I finished separating and zipping the lowercase Dots alpha. I saved these two different ways, PNG and PSD! That way you have the option of a single png page that you lasso letters or the .psd that you grab and move layers. Hope you like it! Leave me some luv!

I'm going to work on a secret project tomorrow, (tee hee) I hope it turns out good!

More Butterflies!

Hello everyone! As requested, by some of you who posted comments at 4SHARED, here are some more butterfly moths! There are 3 more and these are also 300 ppi and do not have any drop shadows added. These are not as life-like as the other 3 because these were harder to draw! Hope you like them and will leave me some luv either in the comments here or at 4Shared.

Download Here

I haven't heard a word from the computer guru who is assembling my new CPU. I'm so anxiety ridden that I have a permanent cramp in between my shoulder blades. I really wish I had it now because Flergs is having a CT call for just 1 (one) designer and I'd like to try my hand at it. I worked for two days on a layout that I'm not all that pleased with; it takes forever to bring things into the PSE5 workspace. Maybe it will get here before the competition closes and I can do another layout that's, hopefully, better!

What do you think of it? I'm not sure I'm doing this right, I recolored the ribbon and maybe I'm not suppose to do that?

Products Used:
Made with Flergs' SD Mini Kit with some frames from her Rough & Tumble kit & Lavender Tea kit; the note paper and butterfly are from her Caramel Pudding kit. The little cardboard tab is one I made and so is one of the frames.

Journaling:

Suzy, you will never realize how happy I was to find these early photos of you in some old albums of your Grandma Rose's! They were all just tossed in between blank pages as they were taken because no one had time to document them back then. What a delight to see you as you were before you came to our family! These photos will be cherished by me always to remind me of the little Suzy who filled my days with joy and my heart with love.

The theme for the competition is about what delights us and believe me, I couldn't have been more delighted that I was when Kim showed up with some of Rose's old albums and I found these of Suzy. Bart and Kim didn't meet until the Christmas before Suzy turned two, so we didn't have any photos of her prior to that. I guess you can imagine how much they mean to me! I love doing girly layouts and having these and the few I have of Tabitha really inspire me to do lace and butterflies!

I don't know if y'all noticed, but I put a counter back on the site. I needed it for tracking because I hope to get some revenue someday to offset the cost of my addiction to
scrapping! It's only been on for 4 or 5 days so I'm getting some pretty good traffic!

Well, time to go clean up the kitty litter (ugh), tomorrow is garbage day! Oh! I found the cutest photo of Peaches when she was little, I had forgotten all about it. Check it out:

Isn't she just the cutest little baby? She was so sweet back in those days; she wasn't afraid of everyone like she is now. We cannot figure out why she is so skittish; no one has ever hurt her in any way.

OMGosh! Kevin just called to let me know the CPU is ready. I'm almost crying. I am scared and excited at the same time. Please think good thoughts for me and maybe this purchase will turn out to be a good one. My track record is pretty bad when it comes to getting a good deal or product. Gotta go!

The Butterfly Kit

Well, one of the main problems of getting old(ER) is memory loss! I promised some butterflies and forgot all about them, duh, sorry! Correcting this right now! I've been so busy trying to get the squirrels out and getting a new computer in that I've neglected friends and family for too long. The squirrels are still here and the computer isn't, so what's new for me? Anyway, here are three little butterfly moths that I think you will like. I'll make more soon. Be sure and add drop shadows for realism if that's what you're going for; they are great to printout and use on paper layouts too!

I used one of them on this layout of Joshua after opening all his gifts on Christmas Eve. He is such a character and so cute too! Gotta Love 'em! I put this one together really fast so it's not as detailed as I wanted but it will do for now. When (and if) I get the new computer, I'll do a better job; it just takes so long with my current model.

Products: PP, Rubberband Wrap, Torn Chipboard, Butterfly: Liv's Lovelies/Paper Tears, Gear,Tab: Flergs-Rough & Tumble/Box Top Edges: Laura Burger/Crumpled Star: Manu70-Trevors Treasures/Horse Tag, Imbedded Eyelet: ScrappyPonyDesigns/Black Button: M Martin-Trevors Treasures/Rust Button: BooLand Designs-Paperblitz

I just love those cardboard box edges, I just need to learn how to make them look more realistic. Check out that little horse tag by ScrappyPony Designs, isn't it the cutest? I think it goes perfect with Flergs Rough & Tumble kit.

I heard from my friend Jill yesterday; she sounds like she feels better but keep her in your prayers along with my Kim and Joshua's possible dyslexia. I need to check (again) and see if the computer place has sent me a quote on the new system yet. Take care. Enjoy the Freebie!

Bringing Some Old Back for the NEW YEAR!

Don't have much time to chat today; I have still been fighting this CPU ever since it arrived. Why can't things work like they are suppose to? Anyway, I thought I'd bring forward some Freebies I did earlier in the year for you to catch up with; there's a link below each preview.

A Gift For You!

Don't anyone faint! I've uploaded a Freebie for you as a Merry Christmas! or Happy Holidays! from me. This is an eyelet frame that I made to use on my layout "Suzy Baby" that I posted earlier. You can easily change the size and color to suit your needs using Photo Shop or Photo Shop Elements or any program that let's you lasso or select png files.

I hope you enjoy using it. Send me a link, if you do, so I can leave you some Luv!

I'm just sitting around waiting on the car to get home so I can do my grocery shopping. I made a birthday card for my wonderful friend, Theresa, this morning and I have to get a stamp and mail it today-her birthday is Christmas Eve!

I scrap-lifted it from Ready, Set, Create!'s newsletter. You can go to my gallery at The Scrappy Gourmet or Serendipity Scrapbooks to see the products list. The galleries are listed and linked to the right.

Have a Merry!

First Chat!

Hey Y'all!

I went to my first chat today! It was at DigiShopTalk and it was with designer Misty Mareda. It lasted for an hour and I had a great time and hope to do that again soon! We even got freebies for attending! How cool is that?! I also joined their Gold Membership (even though I am already a member of the site) that includes 12 digital monthly kits. You get a kit a month and it's way cheaper than paying $3 or more per kit! The one thing I was surprised about was that I didn't feel out of my depth. There seemed to be all levels of competence in digital scrapping represented. I found out about some sites I want to visit and perhaps join and also how to navigate my way around a chat
room! The participants were quick with PM'ing me to let me know what was what if I had a question. All in all, a very good experience.

My friend Flergs has been ultra busy lately, just creating away! I think have everything she's done and if I don't I will soon. I've done some more designing but not good enough to offer to anyone. I did make a frame like the old timey Polaroids use to use; I used it in my LO Happiness is . . . I'll post it and come back and put a link to it here soon.

Isn't Joshua adorable in this shot? It just makes me smile all inside to look at it! I really need to smile more because even if you hurt, smiling and laughing makes you feel better. I've really tried to concentrate on other things and I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it so far. A friend's birthday was last week and the gang is getting together tomorrow to celebrate. I'd love to go but I'm just not up to it and don't think they really understand. Lynn is picking up a fair amount of the slack that this crap has kept me from doing. No, she hasn't vacuumed, but hey no one's going to come in and rob me of my dust and dirt! LOL! I have a friend that has a cleaning business and I know I could get her to come and clean up but I don't want anyone I know to see my mess. Right? Some things are better left unseen.

I haven't heard from Jill this week; I think I'd better email her and see what the doctor said about her condition. Keep praying that it isn't Fibromyalgia. I'm going to do that now. I'll try and post something sooner rather than later. I've been kinda remiss about this blog.

Some New Digital Pages

Yes, I know, it's been a long time since I posted. Things have been a little topsy, turvy around here. A cold is luming around me giving me head and body aches. And things in my daughter's home weren't that terrific this weekend.

I plan to paper scrap today no matter what! I have done some digital pages though for the Daily Challenges over at Serendipity Scrapbooks! Miss Kristen seems to always have points, to give out to forum scrappers, that discount her online store items. I need 4 entries to be eligible for the
drawing. Here are my pages for this week so far, Devoted and Splish Splash!:

Devoted was entered in the challenge "A gathering of Accents." I stacked the photos myself because I'm a dork and couldn't get the PS action to work!

Splish Splash! was entered in the challenge "Making a Splash." This challenge called for paint or ink splashes that were used for the background of titles or journaling.

There is a "layered rub-on" challenge that I want to try today. There is also a "make your own 3-D embellishments" challenge. All of these need to be posted by Wednesday so I don't think that's going to happen.

I have a Freebie ready for you. It is circles of bling. Bling circles are all on one page of a .png file. Simply lasso(choose), copy and paste or lasso(choose), drag and drop. There are four colors on the page but you may be able to generate more using the Hue & Saturation action of PSE or PS. Let me know what you think!

I'm off to paper scrap! Tootles!

I Uploaded the Daisies!

Hey y'all! I won another prize from Serendipity's Crop Jamboree! It was for the digipage "Christmas Morn" that I entered in the Colors! Colors! Colors! Challenge. I've just started doing digi so it was a real surprise that I won this on merit!!! I really want to paper scrap soon; Kristen has a great November kit with the blues that I love. Check-out MasonsA1Mom's Design Team Posts in the Serendipity Gallery and you'll know what I mean. Gorgeous! All of the Design Team projects for this month are awesome, I just find that I am partial to Stacey's work.

FREEBIES!

Liv's Lovelies (at least these 9) are finally a reality! Here are the daisies that I promised! I like them and I hope you do too. They are 300ppi and do not have drop shadows. Oh, and they are .png files so they do not have a background. If you experience any trouble let me know. Let me know how you like them so that I will know wether to make other elements for you. Also include any request for other colors and I will do my best to make them for you. If you decide to use them, I would love to see your work so leave me a link and I'll leave you some luv!

Here's the link to download the Sketch I did last week in case you didn't see it. Sketch

Hope everyone's having a great week!
