More CT Layouts!

Hey Y'all!
Got some more layouts to share with you! My new CT member, SherryD, has made a couple of layouts with my Very Cherry kit.  She has also made a quickpage she says I can give as a Freebie! WooHoo! The freebie is like the 'Beautiful' layout below:

 

I am first offering the freebie to my newsletter subscribers, so sign up for my newsletter (on the right.) I promise I do not send newsletters out frequently; I just hardly have any time to do so :) But now I have 3 members on my Creative Team so I should be generating more freebies for you since I do not have to do it all by myself!

Sherry has also made a frame cluster, a wordart tag, some overlays, and a border for me to give away! She sure is generous as well as talented. Now, I've got to put my thinking cap on and figure out how I'm going to offer all these freebies! Maybe get you to leave comments and everyone who comments this Friday through Monday night at midnight gets their name put in the hat and I will pick from them? What do you say? A Lady's Boudoir Layout

Chris made us a layout with A Lady's Boudoir! She took some of the components and made a ribbon/border and also a gem border. It's really pretty! Maybe we can talk her into making it into a quickpage for you!

Home Run!

My unstoppable grandson, Joshua, got a home run last night! There were two guys on base and he brought them all home! Woo Hoo! First game the team won and of course I think It was because they finally let Joshua play his favorite position: Catcher! I never wanted to play catcher; too much work and too hot under all that equipment. But Joshua is a jock and he doesn't let anything get in the way of the 'game!'

She also included some super duper top of the line digital CD's  from Crafty Secrets 'Creating with Vintage' line! I really got confused about them and thought they were for me to critique and return-NO! They were for ME! Na na na na, na na . . . . Woo Hoo!

New Layout From HummerDawn

Hey Y'all,
HummerDawn, my Canadian friend, has made a July 4th layout! Not too shabby huh?! She's just peaches!

You would not believe what I had to go through to get this layout posted. Sometimes it just seems like everything is working against you! LOL! But it's up.  There is another one but not going to try and put it up today. Dawn used my mini kit Patriotic which is on sale at Digi Style Designs for 15% off for this month only. Here is the preview:

I recently started  a FaceBook FanPage. Until I get some likes I cannot use all the bells and whistles that FB has.  I guess you have to prove that you have some followers already in place? I'd like y'all's input on what you think I should put on the page. I am suppose to learn about tabs and making freebies available to my "Like" friends.  Anyway if you would go and visit my page on FaceBook  and click on Like, I would really appreciate it! I made a 'cover' for the fan page but it wouldn't work in FaceBook. I could have sworn I had seen this type of cover but maybe it was somewhere else:

The cover I ended up using was this one that was made from my Good Morning, Sunshine kit:

 

All I had to do for this one was put in a background color and the word.  The other one was about 2 hours worth of work! That's a record for me though; I am unbearably slow at making videos and blinkies.  I made one for a friend of mine and worked probably more that 24 hours on it and she still couldn't upload it to the forums like she wanted or even in her email.  Don't know what I did wrong but I made sure it worked for me before I sent it to her. I'd show it to you but I seem to have misplaced it somewhere in that 1 trib harddrive!

I started off the day in the dumps, but received a sweet package in the snail mail from a super friend of mine out in Nebraska! She just seemed to know I needed perking up. She sent me a hanging plaque that says, 'If Friends were flowers, I'd pick you!' Wasn't that just the sweetest. Boosted my mood!

Well, it's thundering and lightening so I'd best close down my PC. Y'all take care now!

New Team Member!

Hello Y'all,

How was your 4th of July? Canada Day? Or . . . Wednesday? LOL!  I believe in being patriotic because I believe in my country but fireworks are not the way to celebrate in my opinion! They scare all the animals so badly that some even die from fright, children are traumatized and the worst is all the fires that cause death, maiming, and destruction. Well, someone said to me at least we don't celebrate by shooting off guns. I just don't get it.

Okay, off my preaching and onto another much nicer subject.  I have a new Creative Team member who is working with my kits now! Woo Hoo! I have been blessed to have Dawn and now I have Chris! Dawn is from Canada and Chris is from England and they both are very talented. Chris goes by the name of Twizzle in the forums so some of you might know her too; Dawn uses HummerDawn in the forums! Chris did a layout 'on the fly' for me today just so I could get something of hers up and promises to do many more. Here is the one for today that she made with my Good Morning, Sunshine! mega kit:

I have so many good friends that I have met on the Net and sometimes I wonder what would have become of me by now if I didn't have them to share my sorrows with, bounce my questions off of, or even my complaints and whining. 

Oh, I wanted to tell you that Sugarbutt Designs now has a FaceBook page.  Not a fan page but a personal page and I think we should all show our support for her by asking her to friend us.  Look for Sugarbutt Johnson! I have my FaceBook page too, it is under Olivia Dunaway Hudson if you'd like to join me.  Mine is a personal page also, not a fan page.  Actually, I don't know how to do a fan page! LOL! Yes, there are some things I don't know about the Internet!

In other news, it is hot, hot, hot, in North Carolina. Tell you something new, huh? Well, Tabitha didn't come down to spend the week with me as planned; she has been bitten by the boyfriend bug and doesn't want to 'leave' him. ;(  Really. Wish it was different but that's the way we are when we are teenagers so I cannot fault her for feeling that way.
My friend Jan is up and about and doing pretty good; she came to see me on Monday! She came over and stayed an hour and we caught up with each other. It was really nice being able to hug her and sit next to her again. It seems so strange to have spent so much time with her over the past year and then not see her for a couple of months. This is my fault as I have once again gotten reluctant/uncomfortable/seized with fear at the prospect of leaving my home. This is something that seems to happen ever few years when the stress of everyday occurrences put me out of kilter. I am hoping it will end soon and I actually thought that when Tabba came down I would be able to go out with her. That's what I get for planning ahead.
Did I tell you that my granddaughter Suzanne graduated from high school this month? I'm really proud of her. My Joshua has passed on to the 7th grade with flying colors! He received merit awards for math and science! Talk about proud! Wow! If you aren't familiar with my Joshua he is my daughter, Kimberli's, son.  He was premature at birth and has been dealing with that plus being dyslexic. It has really been a struggle for the little guy but he is just awesome and never gives up!

I'm also announcing a new layout form I am calling ‘Great Starts!’  These pages are less than quickpages but more than frame clusters; they are not layout templates.  These forms have openings for your photos, like quickpages, but also have room for your personalization with flowers, buttons, bows, journal cards, titles, or any number of elements that would suit your taste.  Sometimes you add a background paper or two and sometimes the background is included in the design.  They enable you to decorate them a little or a lot and should adapt to whatever your designing style might be.  I hope you enjoy using this new type of scrapbooking helper!

On a personal note: I have not been all that well (did I tell you it was discovered that I had a heart attack last year?) and have fallen way behind in my correspondence and phone calls and I truly sorry about it.  I have been having checkups, tests, and more tests that are suppose to be supporting good health but sometimes the tests seem to be hazardous to my health! For example: The colonoscopy and endoscopy. If you don't know what they are use Google.  If you do know what they are I'm sorry for you! Yes, I realize that we have to do some very distasteful and uncomfortable things but it has taken me a solid week to get over this one test! I was in a hurry to get all my checkups, including the dentist, behind me before this weekend because my darling grand daughter, Tabitha, was coming to visit us for a week or so and I didn't want anything hanging over my head that would keep me from enjoying her. Surprise! She isn't coming :(  She doesn't want to leave her boyfriend.  I knew this day would come but up until yesterday I thought she would be down this year. Today, actually yesterday, is her 18th birthday! Happy Birthday Baby!

My other grand daughter, Suzanne, graduated from high school this past week! We are all really proud that she went back and finished at the top of her class after having her baby, Gavin, who just this month turned 1!

My grandson, Joshua, has done super good in school this entire year and he was presented with two merit awards, one in science and one in math! He is such a little fellow that we were afraid he was going to be the subject of bullys, but since he is such a jock and an all around nice guy he has, knock wood, been spared.

Well, if I am going to get this new kit in my shops I need to shut up and get moving! Thanks for stopping by!

Sharing some photos!

Hello Y'all!
Well, I have been very, very, busy (and frustrated of course), being dragged by my hair, kicking and screaming, to  upgrading my operating system to Windows 7. I love Windows XP so much but my programs were all beginning to have problems because everyone else upgraded a long time ago. Every time I do something like this, I get hit with every possible scenario of flub-ups and errors, even though I always read every direction and keep notes and am extra careful about everything. Other folks just throw a program in and hope for the best and they get it  ;(  Not me! Anyway, I have just about completed it all and am taking a breather so I thought I would check-in here and share a little bit.
My Great Grandson is turning 1 year old this Saturday! His Mom is planning a fun party in a beautiful local park (local to her, that is). I haven't left the house in a long time; I don't like to leave the house.  I'm happy here with my PC and TV and as long as the power doesn't go out before I charge up the NetBook or Reader, I do just fine. But, I am going to try and go to this party if only to walk in and give him a kiss and a gift and leave.  It takes an hour to get there so most of the guest won't think anything of my leaving early since I'm so old and decrepit! I have a few photos of him that I want to share with you; he has really blossomed into a great looking little man!

I have been working on a new kit called Soft Spring.  It's not finished but I have made a gorgeous quickpage to share with you when I upload it to my stores. New Product In Stores

Hello Y'all,
I just finished and uploaded a package of pastel gingham papers.  There are 14 of them in that lovely old gingham style of small checks. I am going to make some basic colored ones and also some normal sized checked ginghams too. They are really, really, cheap at $2.50 and also they may be used for Commercial Use too! New Hybrid Freebie
